This outing proved to be a highlight last year. By coupling duck hunting in the famed Core Sound with a quail shoot on the way home, hunters are sure to enjoy the trip. Carteret Co. Dates – Arrive Thursday evening and depart Saturday after lunch. Jan. 6-8 and 20-22 Cost $200 per person. This covers two nights lodging, all meals on Friday night and breakfast and lunch on Saturday plus a limit of quail.

This trip has the potential for providing fast and furious shooting on the Black River and you watch the sun come up over centuries-old cypress and hear woodies calling through the timber. Bladen Co. This outing is on one of the most beautiful waterways on the eastern seaboard. The Black River offers great fishing and paddling through some of the most scenic parts of North Carolina. Bladen Co. This trip combines two of the best waterfowling experiences North Carolina has to offer. By hunting private impoundments in Hyde Co. you are sure to see ducks and swans. Whether you can hit them is up to you. Hyde Co. Dates – Arrive no later than 1:30 PM on the day of the event. We will hunt that afternoon and the following morning. Men’s Flounder/Redfish Trip Core Sound

October Monthly Meeting

OHT Dinner | Thursday, October 4 @ 6:00 pm The BBQ Lodge at 4600 Capital Blvd., Raleigh, NC 27604 (919-872-4755) The next OHT monthly meeting will feature Jim Wilson, Editor of Wildlife in North Carolina magazine. Jim has been editor of one of North Carolina’s oldest and most respected wildlife magazines since July 2011. Prior to that he was associate editor of the magazine and has owned and edited various publications. Jim has an English degree from UNC Chapel Hill. He grew up in Granville County, where he learned to fish at Kerr Lake and spent much of his youth quail hunting, fishing and playing baseball. While he loves all of North Carolina’s wildlife, Jim’s passion is trout fishing in the northwestern part of the state. Jim will present on the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and its purpose and functions, any new hunting and fishing regulations that are on the horizon, and on the history and purpose of Wildlife in North Carolina.
